Each month's video newsletter is organized around a central theme. This month's theme addresses the importance of sleep. We spend 1/3 of lives in sleep. Of this fact there is no dispute. But, our understanding of why we sleep, how we sleep, what influences sleep quality, and what we can do to obtain restorative sleep lags far behind. We do know assumptions about sleep rest on many myths that need to be debunked. We do know that sleep is a behavior shaped by our environment and culture. We do know that sleep is programmed into our DNA and is regulated by structures deep in our brains.
